From brainstorming to prototyping to manufacturing, we brought our project all the way to a viable product.
Overall from start to viable product, we were able to complete what we set out to do in less than a year. Children absolutely loved building and knocking down structures, DPEA partners were intrigued by the mechanism, and parents loved watching it work. In future years, we hope the exhibit will be refined to the point of simulating multi-axis, historical earthquakes. It is clear that out time management and prioritization was effective and our Creativity and Imagination pushed us to success.

This month I accomplished so much, finishing the assembly of the oscillator, mounting the building surface and even wiring up the electronics. Hitting the ground running next month, I hope to get some code on the Raspberry Pi and see if it runs.
Overall this month was mostly spend with watching the machine run and making tweaks. With the two larger disks completed, next month I hope to manufacture the offset shaft along with some of the other assorted parts, and begin assembling the oscillators.
In order to finish up the assembly, I created the electronics panel and added sensors with guidance from the software department. Also, my team created a prototype of the oscillator which the software team used to create some beta code. Next week, I hope to start reviewing the entire assembly with my team and creating exploded view drawings.
Looking forward into the next month, I hope to attach the prototype to motors and some kind of frame in order to test the accuracy and abilities of the system. I also would like to design the mounting bracket and linkages to connect the whole system together.
Going forward, I hope to work on integrating the building surface into the structure in a stable manor. I look forward to collaborating with my teammates and seeing all of our subassemblies come together.
